The Influence of Ego-Resilience on Anger experience and Anger expression in Middle school Students

Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships and whether ego-resilience significantly predict to state-anger, trait-anger, anger expression among middle school students.

Methods: The data was collected from Aug. 16, 2009 to Sep. 22, 2009. The subjects were 473 middle school students of 4 schools, in 2 cities, Korea. To determine the most effective variable of ego-resilience to anger experience and anger expression, data was analyzed by Canonical correlation using SAS 9.1 TS.

Results: Canonical correlation analysis revealed that the emotional control among 5 sub-domains of ego-resilience made the most outstanding contribution in predicting anger experience and anger expression.

Conclusion: The results suggested that the development of ego-resilience for middle school student is important for control their anger. Specially, emotional control and optimism should be included in school-based setting for positive control of anger experience and expression .
